Name: Mediation Tao. Descripton:As a professional mediator, Heather has been practicing mediation for over a year. Case specialties include children, family, education, and medical services. In 2012, Mrs. Traeden opened her private mediation practice maintaining a busy and varied practice. Ms. Traeden mediates throughout Utah and has mediated several complex cases. Mrs. Traeden studied conflict resolution, mediation and negotiations under the tutelage of Michelle Hawes, a master mediator, and received a graduate certificate in conflict resolution from the University of Utah in 2012. She graduated from the University of Utah with her Master’s Degree in Human Development and Social Policy in May 2012. Family development, child development and social policy have been the main focus of Mrs. Traeden’s education since she began her upper college level courses in 1994. She has extensive knowledge and is up to date with the most current research regarding family systems, children and parents. Recently, Heather completed her graduate thesis on marital conflict and its effects on children’s competence over time. Heather has extensive knowledge of public and charter education and laws and has been involved in the development and governance of charter schools at both the state and community level. Mrs. Traeden is currently serving as a board member and founder of the Utah Chart Network (2011). Leadership experience includes LPA Governing Board Chair (2004-2010), LPA Board Member (2004-2011), UAPCS Board Member (2009-2011), DIA Advisory Board Member (2008-2011), Developer and Founder of Legacy Preparatory Academy (2004-current). Mrs. Traeden also has over 15 years of experience in the medical field interacting with patients, doctors, nurses and other specialists in a hospital setting. From 1999-2006 Heather worked as a Certified Child life specialist at Primary Children’s Medical Center advocating for children and parents and teaching parents how to work most effectively within the medical system.
