I have been attending the Mori Academy for about the last 15 months initially my goals were to get in shape and loose the weight I had gained after surgery for a torn Achilles tendon. I have lost my weight and am now at a nice 155lbs down from 200lbs. I am physically in some of the best shape of my life. My wife and daughter commented on the fact that I now have defined and abs. My daughter’s boyfriend told her that I scared him because I am so cut. I feel great and have started competing once again in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, both Gi and No-Gi competitions. I recently went to Las Vegas for the 13th Grappler’s Quest and placed 2nd in my division. I have also started boxing to improve my standing and would like to start fighting in about a year’s time and all of this at the tender age of 40.

I started Training with Eddie Mori in 2005. My first 13 months going 3 times a week and training Muay Tai I went from a way overweight 225lbs to a Very fit 155. I just turned 30 and Still am at 160lbs. The training I recieved there is second to none. He is a great mentor and great instructor. I just competed in jui jitsu in november and took 2cnd. The best and most fun way I could have ever lost weight. Now my daugter has been training with Eddie for over a year and is amazing at jui jitsu. She started when she was 4 years old and now is 6 1/2. She understands what disapline is and loves to train with her dad at the gym. The Mori academy is so kid friendly and a great atmosphere to be around. All around the best gym in utah. If anyone is doubtful out there like I was. He mad it so comfortable for me and my family. Great place and fun for the whole family no matter what age.
Best thing for my son

I think all parents hope their children will grow up confident and strong, and I am no different. I got my son involved with Mori's Jiu-jitsu class for kids in hopes that he will learn self defense. The unexpected bonus is the confidence that my son started to develop after only the second week. My son's been with the Mori Academy for 9 months now and he looks forward to going everytime.
