$400 an hour labor!

Hartman charged me $720 for a $139 motor and 1.5 hours of labor. I called to complain and they told me they had to mark the motor price up to $300 and yes they do charge $300 an hour for labor. Shop around. This company thinks they can charge you whatever they want
Can't be trusted

Hartman fraudulently changed information on a financing application in order to credit qualify me for financing on a system without my knowledge. And did not honor interest rate promised to me when the system was installed. When I called them to advise of the mistakes, they said the only way to correct is to close the account with Wells Fargo. And I would be responsible for paying for the system in full. I am now stuck with a system in my home and trapped with financing terms that I did not agree to. In addition to all this, I found out that they grossly over charged me for the system itself. I checked with several companies and got quotes on the same system w/ labor. All were around $1500 less than Hartman. Hartman does not regulate the amounts they sell systems at. Depending on whether the it's being financed, they purposely overcharge to obtain more commission based on the line of credit that is approved by the bank. They do not do honest business.
Quality And Low Price

When my furnace went out, I had Hartman and a well-known competitor give me bids. Hartman broke out the cost of installing a new furnace vs the AC and had a more honest air about them. Hartman got me an awesome deal (furnace, AC, water heater & Wifi thermostat) that was much lower then the competitor (who just quoted for the furnace and AC). The installers were friendly and did a good job. They installed everything in 1.5 days. The only downside was they they forgot to add the water heater to the final bill at the completion of the install and had to come back and ask me for payment (we decided to replace the water heater after we contracted with Hartman for the furnace/AC).

I had Hartman installed my furnace and water heater 2 years ago.A few months ago I found out the gas connector to the water heater was not even tightened up and has been leaking gas since then..I called in and they didn't care about it.A month ago my TWO-YEAR old furnace started have problems starting up.The technician was 2 hours late, and he started blaming one wire harness adapter and told me that I should change my filter every THREE WEEKS.Finally he told me the gas valve was the problem.Another company came check and told me the wire harness works good so does the gas valve.I called Hartman weeks ago told them to cancel the appointment that replace the gas valve,they said no problem but called me this morning and told me I need to pay for an restocking fee.I think it does not matter if the problem was the gas vale,I just found out that I cannot trust them and let them service my furnace anymore.Because the way that they mess up with the product they serve and how they charged me.

Thank you Hartman Heating! I called on a Saturday because it was getting cold and they were able to send a very qualified technician within a couple hours with no additional service charge. After I told the technician what the furnace was doing, he clearly explained what was likely to be the problem and provided an estimate of the cost. He (Ian) was very conscientious, even wearing booties over his shoes so he wouldn't track any dirt into my house. After making the repair, he checked the furnace to make sure it was safe, including a carbon monoxide reading. He provided as much information as I requested without using technical jargon; I had complete confidence in the young man, and the service charge was very reasonable, especially for the length of time it took for the repair. I have used Hartman Heating in the past when I needed a new furnace and I will continue using Hartman Heating for my future furnace service calls. Warm in Salt Lake, John
