Professional Math Tutor and Science Tutor in the Salt Lake Area
Introduction: I am a 6th year PhD student and instructor in mathematics at the University of Utah. I have 10 years of experience as a private math tutor and science tutor. I have tutored people of all age groups, ranging from elementary school students to graduate students.
Why choose Victor? Math and science are often the most difficult subjects for most students, but having a good teacher makes a huge difference. Many math tutors are simply good at math but have not learned how to teach the subject effectively, or studied about how the mind processes information. My extensive experience in mathematics, science, teaching, and learning psychology has allowed me to help students in a way that most other tutors and teachers cannot.
More than Math Tutoring: As a math tutor and science tutor, I have had the privilege of tutoring students in many other related subjects as well including business, finance, economics, health science, psychology, nursing, engineering, and marketing.
Price: My rate is $80 per hour. You will receive the undivided attention from a university mathematics instructor. To save a little money, you may team up with another student and split the cost of the session.
High School: Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, AP Calculus, AP Statistics, AP Physics, AP Chemistry, AP Biology, SAT, ACT.

Victor is the best. He is helpful and professional and is able to explains things so much better to my son. My son struggles with ADHD and Victor was able to help my son with his AP Calc classes, raising not only his test scores but his homework, quizzes and general class work scores. He has also been helping my son with other general organizational skills which have helped improve his overall performance in all his classes. I recommend him to everyone I know, he is the best tutor we have ever worked with.
He can help with everything

Victor helped me get a B+ I'm stats last semester, and I really struggle in math usually. He explains it way better than my teacher did. It was so hard to find a stats tutor but I was grateful when I found victor. This year I'm taking chem and physics and he's helping me out with those as well. It is impressive how knowledgeable he is and how well he explains things. A few other tutors I tried before victor had to spend half the time looking through the textbook. I am sure I will use victor for a few more classes until I finish my degree at the U.

Victor is exceptional. He and I worked together over a 5 week period during my preparation for the GMAT. I'd HIGHLY recommend taking more time to study but despite the tight timeframe, we were able to hit my target score and I got accepted to Booth. Without Victor's help, there's no way this would've happened. He has a plethora of tips and tricks that proved invaluable on the test but also took the time to get to know my particular learning style and adjust his approach accordingly. Great guy, great results. Can't over-emphasize how important he was!
Victor Camacho - Excellent Tutor

Victor Camacho is an exceptional tutor. I was apprehensive about his price at first, but after our very first meeting I've been using him exclusively for the past two years. I used him for basic computer programming, a mid-level physics class, and some more advanced mathematics classes. There were other tutors I tried before meeting Victor, all of whom purported to be experts in these subject areas, but none of them had a solid understanding of the fundamentals and/or they couldn't speak English well. Victor is the best, so if you have the money, hire him. Some highlights: 1) Excellent speaking and teaching skills 2) Seems to know everything - and it VERY well. 3) Can take direction well - i.e. teaches me exactly what I need and ask for without any arrogance or impatience. 4) Flexible in scheduling time and location of meetings. 5) Extremely reliable/dependable. 6) Nice guy, great to be around personally. 7) Price is a bargain for what you get. Hire him.

I'm a student at the U of U. I needed help testing out of Statistics and later in Quantitative Reasoning. I had gone through several tutors before coming in contact with Victor. I can’t explain the relief it was to meet someone dependable, on time, and knew the material like the back of their hand. Other tutors spent half the time looking through my book to try and learn the material themselves and then try and explain it. As I am a mother of 4 children my time is very valuable. Victor is the best use of my time in explaining material quickly and adapting to whatever speed I am at. He has no problem allowing me to move forward quickly in the material I am efficient at and slowing down for material I am not grasping. He is patient and he is a skilled instructor, not just someone who knows how to do math. I have found through experience there is a big difference. Having him on my team has been a huge stress load off of my shoulders. Worth every penny!!! Melanie
