Deceptive dealer-avoid him like the plague
by User45780 on
Singer Auto Sales and Tom Singer use deceptive, misleading sales tactics. Advertised that the 2000 Chev S10 had "almost new BFG all terrain Tires" and "newer upper and lower ball joints" and interior condition excellent, clean title. Tires had 20% tread, weather cracking and made in 2006. Ball joints very old. Interior condition he put many floor mats down to hide massive oil stains and even mold. Used 2 heavy air freshners to hide mold smell and cigarette smell. Title assigned to another used car dealership and not to Singer Auto. Exhaust system had holes and will not pass. He passed it to get it off his lot. Told me brakes were new. On way home at high freeway speed, brakes shook car when I had to decelerate fast. Rotars scared. SALES UNRELIABLE CARS Filed complaints with Consumer Protection, Better Business Bureau, Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division, Federal Trade Commission, Ripoff Report dot com, warning others of this dealer's misrepresentations. Rude and hostile!!!
Good Dealer to Buy From
by User85325 on
I've purchased two autos from Tom. He had lower prices on them than any other dealer (and most private sellers) from Logan to Nephi. He was great to work with and treated me well. His autos were not new, so I had a few repairs to do after buying them to get them in tip, top shape...but they were good autos. If you can't afford a new vehicle and have to buy used, I recommend buying from him.
Unethical "business" man

These are the problems with the vehicle I purchased from Singer Auto Sales: 1) Catalytic converter had a crack in it (estimate to fix was $1100 with parts & labor) 2) Was in a car accident & this was not disclosed on the carfax.com report he showed us. Found out it was in a $3000 accident from insurance company 3) Did not tell me that the engine light had been coming on. Came on within two days of possession of the vehicle 4) Made threats that if I wrote a review, he would sue me because I’m “hurting his business” 5) Would not instigate any communications, such as when I would get the title. He said he would tell me after speaking to his “partner” about reimbursing and/or helping me fix the catalytic converter. He should have been honest from the beginning so that I would know all the problems this vehicle had. I tried to allow him to make good on this purchase by paying for the parts and labor required to fix it. He declined to do so.
Poor business ethics

My original review exceeded the 1000 character limit! So I will cut to the chase. Verbally was told car was clean title, no accidents, engine and tranny run good no leaks, brand new battery. Didn't take it to an inspection place, bought the car, drove it for 6 days, tranny had several huge holes in it with no tranny fluid. Had an argument with dealer, expressed to dealer we bought a car i can no longer drive, we didnt have any more money left in our savings as we have small children, he offered to replace tranny, but left me with install charges. Experian auto check was a fraud, the car actually had several accidents when i pulled a REAL report myself, battery went bad in 2 months, tranny cables broke, the business practices here are horrible with cars bought at auctions then turned around and sold for a quick buck, stignma of used car dealers today, very dissapointed. Save yourself grief and dont buy from here... or any shady dealers of that matter. Get cars inspected before buying!

Buying a car from this guy was the biggest mistake I made in 2013. As a self proclaimed GM auto mechanic for years this guy neglected to inform me that there was no compression in cylinder #3 in the 02 Tahoe I bought from him. I had to replace the motor before I even got my permanent license plates. If his shady little lot gives you a bad feeling? It's because this guy is a snake in the grass. Buy nothing here. This guy is a crook.
