They're doing a great job

I'm happy to write a review. I hired them in March of 2015. We got quotes from a lot of companies on Ksl.com. They didn't start until they had a permit in hand and that ended up being the last week of March. As of today, April 15, all that's left is painting. They have flown through my project and my wife and I are ecstatic we hired them. The first week was crucial. They go so fast, if you change your mind on anything, you have to let them know fast. They had sheetrock up in the second week. I'm really happy with the workers. They have worked hard everyday. They don't listen to loud music or anything like that. They are all very respectful. We are so excited for our family to come into town at the end of this month. They are gonna love staying with us!
Will hire them again!

Our experience with Utah Basement has been positive from start to finish. My husband and I had a couple of other companies come over and assess, but Todd was, by far, the most down-to-earth, personable and kind, which was why we decided to go with him. It was a quick and easy decision once we met with Todd. He spent over an hour in our home during the first visit, inspecting our house and sharing his recommendations. The staff was very organized. We were given paperwork, a schedule, follow-up calls and everything that was needed during the weeks leading up to the actual project. My husband and I had many phone conversations with Todd. He almost always answered his phone, and if he was in a meeting, he always returned our calls very promptly. These guys worked their butts off for 6 weeks – with a positive attitude. They all worked together as a team. They always seemed to communicate very efficiently with each other very effectively, which created supreme efficiency.
Response To Negative Review

In response to the previous negative review: Rarely have we ever had a review so disappointing. During that time, we were dealing with some extenuating circumstances. My partner and father, Bob, was diagnosed with a terminal cancerous glioma. Before his diagnoses, he was doing all the sales for our company and allowing me to run the jobs. Well, that immediately had to change and i made the poor choice of hiring an inexperienced project manager. That was a mistake. However, I did everything in my power to try and make you happy. This cost me thousands of dollars. But, I was happy to lose that money in an attempt to preserve our amazing reputation. I'm sorry for the way things went with your project. Having said that, I have reached out to several of our most recent clients to write reviews of how their experience has been with us. I hope their reviews will reflect the positive changes we've made in our company.
Honest Guys That I Will Hire Again

Utah BKB completed a major remodel for my husband and me after a clean water flood did extensive damage to our home. Todd did an excellent job being sure every detail was taken care of for us. We are both commercial brokers and had recommended Todd's services to several clients in the past with great results on their home remodeling projects. When the need arose we immediately thought of him. His easy going manner is deceiving, he always had everything running smoothly and makes every effort to keep you posted on the progress of your project. Our basement had to be completely redone while we were still living in our two story house. The workmanship was excellent and thoughtfulness of his crews was very much appreciated. His crews are beyond competent, they are craftsmen and gentlemen. They made a tough personal situation much easier to live through. We recommend them highly and will hire them again as well as recommend them to our clients going forward.

Cons: - Didn't hold up to their process in the sales process that they said they do. - Terrible internal communication and an inability to communicate needs with employees and contractors - Employees don't act on what the company sells in terms of process and communication - Sub-par quality (e.g. uneven drywall, bumps, dings and holes) - Require a lot of micromanagement and reminders - Don't listen or note requests as they should - Never responded when I emailed them about the works leaving the gate open and my dog escaping - Contract out quite a few things though claim everything's done from in-house employees - Forgot many basic items - Many examples of unprofessionalism in areas while very professional in others - Installers said they cut corners on plumbing with pipes and plates, and ran it wrong thus leading to them drilling through a water main and flooding my basement the day after finishing. - Basement didn't pass inspection. Had to come back and move light, twice.
