Physical Therapy How do you know if you need a Physical Therapist? Simply ask, "do I have a functional impairment or severe pain resulting from surgery, back and/or neck injuries, neurological problems, sprains/strains or fractures, arthritus, and injuries related to work, recreation, sports, and other daily activities". Sports Therapy Our Physical Therapist and Certified Athletic Trainers treat professional and intercollegiate athletes; however we also treat the young and the elderly. Everyone, and we mean everyone, receives the most up to date techniques to help them recover quickly and safely. Our atheletic trainers are Certified Athletic Trainers by National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and work directly under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist. If there is a sports injury, the staff collaborates with the athlete's coaches, athletic trainers and medical professionals to provide a team approach to the athlete's care. We also educate our patients on an understanding of biomechanics and kinesiology to assist them in avoiding future injuries. Massage At Sundance Physical Therapy, massage therapy is an important adjunct to physical therapy. Our Physical Therapist and Massage Therapist communicate as a team, to offer specific treatment plans tailored to your needs.Benefits of massage therapy include decreasing pain and swelling, stress relief, decreasing anxiety and depression, promoting healing of strained muscles and sprained ligaments, increasing range of motion, reducing formation of excess scar tissue, enhancing athletic performance, and improving circulation of blood and movement of lymphatic fluids.
