Name: Transitions Counseling And Rehabilitation. Descripton:Transitions Counseling and Rehabilitation, LLC is an inpatient substance abuse treatment center located at the mouth of Fairview Canyon in Fairview, Utah. We are opening our doors to clients November 1, 2012. It is an extended stay program with a minimum of 60 to 90 days depending on the resident and clinical recommendations. It is our goal to assist the resident in recognizing and understanding the process that had lead them to where they are now and how to take the gift of change to apply it to their lives today. It is aimed at the basics of arresting the addiction process, as well as establishing individualized treatment solutions, along with relapse prevention strategies. The campus is a 5000 square foot lodge with 12 semi private rooms. There are four additional beds for residents who are transitioning out of treatment located in the lower lodge. There is a separate work out facility, and outdoor fire pit and group area, and a pond. Cottonwood Creek runs alongside the property. Our 5 acre private property is fully fenced and secluded. It cannot be seen from the road. It is at the opening of a national forest with beautiful mountains, rivers, lakes, and forests nearby. This natural setting is ideal for many who struggle with addiction and need to remove the distractions in their lives in order to focus on sobriety. This also allows for experiential therapy such as hiking, meditation, snowboarding, only minutes away. The second thing that makes our program different is the equine therapy. Each resident will participate in 4-6 hours each week of equine therapy. Shawn Ashworth has been doing equine therapy since 1990. He is also a Substance Use Disorder Counselor (SUDC). We believe this is a vital part of each resident’s treatment. It is not horsemanship but is a treatment modality.
