Name: Easy Auto Repair. Descripton:Hello, My name is Eric Tucker. I am a beginning mechanic, currently working out of a shop at home but began my mechanic career at an amazing shop, and purchased my first car working with them. It was a 96 camry with a snapped timing belt for 300 I’ve always loved engines so I was ready to take it on, I discovered the water pump bracket seized and that’s what broke the belt, I had the head remachined and replaced much more but if I wasn’t looking to spend money I could’ve gotten a car for 400. The other guys missed the problem entirely and assumed the belt was old, snapped, and smashed the valves instead of the water pump bracket seizing and stopping the engine before damage could be done. After I had finished everything I drove it to Texas and back. I got home and sold it to buy my brothers heirloom dodge stealth and fix it up, I bought the stealth for 800 because it had gone through at least 5 mechanics in the past year that put a lot into the car and not solved the problem. With experience from the shop I started at I was able to trace the issue and get the car up and running for about 500. I found the problem by doing what every mechanic should do, check fuel air and spark. There was no fuel! I spent some time cleaning the fuel system, replacing things like the fuel pump and filter and testing all the relays and fuses and found no issues. I was certain the fuel system was good so I checked the injectors, they had no power, so I checked the ecu and found the capacitor that controls fuel had corroded, I bought an ecu off of ebay for 40 bucks and it has carried me around for a while. My point with all this is that too many mechanics are ripping people off, just throwing parts at the car because they don’t have to pay for it, and it makes them more money. I hope to one day have my own shop and name for being a reliable mechanic and will do my best to uphold that. Thank you again for your consideration.
