I offer private lessons and performance opportunities, and student recitals are held at the Utah State Veterans Nursing Home.
I am a cellist with a doctorate in performance from the University of Wisconsin, and an undergraduate degree from Indiana University. I am on faculty at SLCC and Idaho State University, but I also love teaching young students and beginners. I like to educate the whole musician, so I try to include cello technique, music theory and history, and general musicality in lessons. The main body of music is classical, but we add in other genres as well!
I also have a certification in Laban Movement Analysis, a somatics practice which looks at movement through the categories of body, effort, shape, and space. I utilize the method when playing and teaching the cello.
