I am a cellist with nearly 15 years of playing experience, and several additional years of teaching experience. I am a scholarship cello student at the University of Utah, where I study with John Eckstein and perform extensively in both the Utah Philharmonia and the Chamber Music program. I have given many solo performances, and have performed in masterclasses with cellist Steven Doane, violinist Tim Fain, and members of the Elias and Bennewitz string quartets.
As a teacher, I believe in helping students learn good physical posture and technique to promote healthy, tension-free playing. I believe in teaching students to play musically and expressively to help them enjoy and appreciate the music they study. Since performing is an integral part of learning an instrument, I organize regular student recitals and performance classes.
I teach students of beginning-intermediate/advanced levels, including adult beginners. Please call or email for rates and available lesson times.
