I began my musical training with my mother at age 4. As an older child and young adult I had the privilege of studying piano with Gary Amano, head of the piano program at Utah State University. I currently study with Dennis Hirst, also a professor at USU, which has allowed me the unique opportunity to pass on the things I learn at my own lessons to my students. I’ve received degrees in piano performance and pedagogy and have taught piano for twelve years. In my studio, I focus on teaching correct practice habbits and consistency. I also feel it is very important for my students develop the ability to sight read and play with musicality and good technique. In addition to these skills, I also want my students to be comfortable performing. Because of this I provide many performace opportunities such as group performace classes and recitals, and encouraged them to participate in competitions and festivals whenever possible. As a result of all these things, I have had a very successful piano studio and have produced many well-rounded musicians as a result of my program. I offer 30, 45 and 60 min lessons and accept students from beginner to advanced. Please contact me to set up an interview.
