Stress can take an enormous toll on a persons health and well being both physically and psychologically if not recognized and managed.
Haelan House teaches people how to reduce stress and live healthier, happier, more fulfilling lives through mindfulness. We offer an 8-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) class that research has shown to benefit participants by showing them how to create a lasting decrease in physical and psychological symptoms; create an increased ability to relax; reduce pain levels and an ability to cope with pain that may not go away; have greater energy and enthusiasm for life; improve self-esteem; an ability to cope more effectively with both short and long-term stressful situations; and can have a profound positive influence on one's view of oneself and of the world, including an ability to be more trusting of oneself and others.
The 8-week MBSR course has been shown to be effective for relief or reduction of symptoms related to:
- Chronic Pain
- Job or Family Stress
- Depression, Anxiety and Panic
- Sleep Disturbance
- Auto Immune Disorders
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome
- GI Distress
- High Blood Pressure
- Pre and Post Surgery Stress
- Organ Transplant Issues
The 8-week MBSR course utilizes mindfulness meditation and gentle Hatha yoga to help participants manage stress and symptoms related to pain and illness.

The next 8-week MBSR course starts on Wednesday, February 10th, 2016. There will be a free Introduction to Mindfulness and MBSR on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 2pm at Timeless Yoga.
