Infant Swimming Resource's Self-Rescue swim lessons are now available in Salt Lake City! Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death in children under 4 in Utah, a tragic statistic that ISR is striving to improve. As a certified ISR instructor, I teach children between 6 months and 6 years how to save themselves should they ever reach the water alone. Children master this technique through a series of 20-30 private lessons. During the last week of lessons, children are taught these amazing survival skills while fully dressed, because over 80% of children who enter the water unintentionally do so fully clothed and we want to ensure our little students are prepared to save themselves in any situation they get into!
Please visit my website www.isrsuperstars.com and ISR's website www.infantswim.com for more information. Both websites have great tips on how to keep your family safe around water.
Constant supervision is the first, and most critical, line of defense to prevent drowning. The second line of defense is appropriate fencing around your pool, locks to prevent access to the pool, and pool alarms. However, there is no device in existence that is guaranteed to keep any child out of the water, or that will prevent a child from drowning in any circumstance. We all know how quickly toddlers and young children can get into a dangerous situation, regardless of our best intentions. Therefore, the third line of defense, after the first two have failed, is your child's ability to survive an aquatic accident. This is where the skills Infant Swimming Resource teaches come into play.
ISR has taught over 260,000 babies and children these amazing, life-saving skills. We have had over 800 documented cases of our graduates using these techniques in a real emergency to save their own lives. We are the only swim school in the U.S. with a 100% safety record, meaning not one of our graduates has ever drowned.
