I have taught piano and music composition of and on for fifteen years. My piano instruction was at the hands of my father, Colin, and grandfather, Dr. Hal Campbell, who was the music department chair at SUU for 15+ years. He studied under the late Grant Johannesen.
I am looking for serious students, preferably adults or older teens, who are looking to take their playing or composition to the next level. We can explore a variety of styles and directions. If you have hit a plateau in your musical exploration and need someone to take you higher, come to me.
You should have at least an intermediate level of capability on the piano, and any level composition-wise is ok if you're interested in that. I will only accept younger students if they are highly motivated personally (not parentally motivated, if you get my drift) and, once again, at least intermediate level capability.
If you are wondering what intermediate level is, you can take a look at this example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gV9gUeFHIw If you could learn something like that within a few weeks, you are basically at an intermediate level.
Lessons are $50 per half hour, or $80 per hour. I can work around schedules to some extent, so if you are interested we can figure out a time that will work for you.
Any other questions please call or email, and I look forward to working together to make you the best you can be.
