Need help with your classes? I specialize in tutoring English, writing, ESL, study skills, and statistics.
My name is Jesse. I recently completed my PhD degree (4.0 GPA) in Applied Linguistics from Northern Arizona University where I also completed my Master's degree (4.0 GPA) in Teaching English as a Second Language. I received my Bachelor's degree in Linguistics (4.0 GPA) from BYU. I will be teaching at BYU starting in the Fall in the Department of Linguistics and English Language
I am passionate about education and I love teaching and tutoring students of all ages and backgrounds. I worked hard to learn how to excel in school, and I would love to share those skills.
I have taught several years of college-level writing. I believe that anyone can learn to write well regardless of their language or educational background. However, writing does not come naturally to many people, and I am passionate about helping individuals learn to express themselves clearly and effectively.
I am an experienced ESL teacher. My Master's degree is in Teaching English as a Second Language. I really enjoy teaching English skills to non-native speakers of all levels and backgrounds. I specialize in reading, writing, and vocabulary, but I also have experience teaching listening and speaking skills.
I also have a Graduate Certificate in Applied Statistics. I love using and teaching statistics. I have extensive experience using SPSS, SAS, and R. I have used a variety of statistical methods in my research and publications. I also have several years of experience as a statistics tutor.
I charge $30 per hour. I am happy to travel to your home or meet you in a public place, such as a university campus or local library.
