I love teaching piano! I have been studying piano since I was six years old and started studying with Dr. Robin Hancock of Brigham Young University when I was 15. I continued to study with him while attending BYU School of Music where I graduated with my Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance in April 2013. While attending BYU, I took specialty Piano Pedagogy classes from one of Utah's, and possibly one of the nation's finest teachers Dr. Irene Peery-Fox. I also took specialty Piano-Teaching Practicum classes and many specialty music theory and music history classes. I have been teaching piano since I was 15 and have learned so much about myself and feelings of music through teaching.
I am a classically trained pianist, and a classically trained piano teacher. I do, however, enjoy playing all types of music including pop, sacred, jazz, and improvisatory. In my studio, I focus on repertoire, sight reading, music theory, music history, ear training, and most importantly technique. Lessons are taught on a Steinway grand piano. I take piano-teaching very seriously and feel that I have a huge responsibility to share all of my knowledge with my students, properly and efficiently.
I teach all levels in which lesson times vary according to level: beginners - 30 minutes, intermediate - 45 minutes, advanced - 60 minutes. Set up your interview now to learn more about Jones Piano Academy and set up a lesson time! Space is limited!
