Saturday evenings in Spring City promise to be lively this summer. A one-hour, weekly, “old time” radio show, Life Under the Horseshoe, kicks off the new season, starting May 17 2014. The show derives its name from the small historic Mormon town of Spring City Utah and the imposing Horseshoe Mountain overlooking it to the east. Each show will broadcast live (as well as be recorded forsyndication), over station KMGR FM Radio 95.9 and 102.7 and their affiliates from 7:00 to 8:00 pm on Saturday evenings, and rebroadcast on each Sunday following the Saturday show. Fifteen episodes will be produced this season then the show will go into reruns while the writers write for the 2015 season.
It will be produced before a live audience (for tickets to the show visit our website www.lifeunderthehorseshoe.com) from Victory Hall, a recently restored one hundred year old vaudeville theatre in Spring City. The show will feature musical guest artists, performing all genre’s of music from Folk to Bluegrass with a little Jazz and Rock thrown in. It will also feature poems, jokes, and old time radio dramas (with sound effects) as well as story telling highlighting the rich legacy of the town and surrounding area from 1851 to the present. Some of the stories may even be true.
