I am a college student working towards a Violin Performance Major and am eager and anxious to be able to teach as many students as I can over the summer and during the course of my own studies. I have studied privately for eleven years with a number of distinguished teachers on the piano and violin and have enjoyed six years of teaching both instruments with the desire to continue to do so for the remainder of my life. I will be attending the University of Utah in the fall but will be residing in the home of my parents and will teach in their private studio. Music infuses and has enhanced every aspect of my life and not only do I think that it's important to learn how to play music but students should be able to experience creating music in a performance setting-- setting goals and sharing what they have learned. Amongst the many students I have taught, I have also been privileged to work with students who had varying levels of special needs including autism, severe ADHD, Aspergers, and ADD. Their cases are confidential but if you are interested in a rigorous routine that may be beneficial to your child who may have special needs, please do not hesitate to call me so I may share my experience and advocate the tremendous benefits of musical instruction particularly for special needs students. I expect a lot as a teacher but I am also very flexible-- it's an unspoken requirement, living the life of a musician. If you are concerned with scheduling conflicts or finances, I would love to talk with you in person.
