I'm an experienced guitar teacher in multiple areas of musical instruction. My name is Dylan Roe. I've been playing guitar for 14 years, first 4 of which were self taught, followed by years of private tutored instruction, and also college courses in music theory and technique. Shortly after completion of my own lessons, I took on musical education from the other side and acquired some students of my own. I have been certified to teach for Bert Murdock's Modern School of Music, and have, 7 years, taught a vast variety of ages ranging from 4 to 50 in all guitar styles; as well as actively performing locally and abroad, music is my life. Whatever your style, whatever your skill level, I can teach you anything from the licks and scales to shred on the arena stage, to the syncopated rhythmic finger picking patterns to pound on your porch with an acoustic. My range and styles of playing include Rock 'n' Roll, Blues, Folk, Classical, Jazz, Country, Heavy Metal and everything in between, acoustic or electric. For a taste of this range, check out my guitar work in these local Salt Lake bands: The Season Of The Witch, The Smoke In The Tavern, Spell Talk, The Rugs, and Roadside Soul. My students will learn basic, intermediate, and advanced playing techniques of any guitar style within their present skill level, sight reading sheet music, music theory, song writing, even guitar mechanics if so desired from lesson time. As well as guitar, I also teach bass, harmonica, dobro/lap & pedal steel. You don't need to sell your soul for rock 'n' roll, just $20/half hr, payed by check at the beginning of the month for all lessons scheduled within the month.
