General Info

This is the best job I've ever had.  It is a blast working with kids and watching them mull over problems and find the answers.  I get charged up and energized after working with kids and am able to tackle my own homework much better.  I love working as a tutor.

Some of my qualifications:

-Perfect score on the AP Calculus, AP Biology, AP Psychology, and AP literature exams in high school.

-High score on the AP Music and Theory exam in high school.

-Graduated with a 4.0 and an academic scholarship to BYU.

-Maintained a 3.6 at BYU while studying to be a chemical engineer while pursueing a Language Certificate in Spanish.

-Been working as a tutor for over 2 years and have had several students raise letter grades in math from D's to A's.

-Had several students raise term GPAs to 4.0s.

I maintain a strong emphasis on learning in my tutoring.  I have found that kids open up and take responsibility of their education once they see their own genius and find a love for what they are learning.  Most kids like math, but they don't like feeling intimidated or confused.  Most kids like being challenged by physics, chemistry, or the ACT, but they don't like feeling incapable and powerless.  My objective it to help kids remember that they love learning and that what they are learning is useful and interesting.  Once that happens, I work myself out of a job because the student assumes all responsibility for their education and then the grades take off.  When that happens, lives change.

Aside from tutoring subjects in school, I also run my own piano studio.  Music has always been my escape and my stress relief and its been invaluable to me.

Some of my qualifications:

-Toured through Italy, Greece, Sicily, Chile, Peru, and Utah with world reknown pianist Dr. David Glen Hatch.

-Ran a studio with over 15 students.

-Had several students receive honors in local festivals and competitions.

Hourly rate: $25-30, depending on location and subject.
