I am a native Russian speaker with a solid command of both Russian and English grammar. I have taught Russian to people of various ages and walks of life: at middle and high schools, during evening courses for adults, and on collegiate level, at Utah State University. I have been learning English continuously for the past 26 years. I have a Master's degree from USU in Human Environments where I wrote and defended a thesis on Soviet architecture and interior design.
I travel to Russia every year, which allows me to stay up to date on the current language trends, as well cultural and political changes in the country.
At Speak Russian To Me, I give students of the Russian language, expats to Russia, adoptive Russian children of foreign parents, and anyone interested in maintaining and improving their conversational Russian skills, an opportunity to practice speaking the language and hone their comprehension skills from their homes over Skype and Google Hangout.
My clients and I engage in a variety of activities, depending on the clients' needs, desires, and goals: hold conversations on every subject possible, read books and internet articles, sing songs, recite poetry, etc. If my clients request it, I stop them if they make a mistake while talking, correct them, and give reasons for the correction. Likewise, if my clients so desire, they may stop me when something I said doesn't make sense and ask for an explanation/translation.
I invite you to come and speak Russian to me. You will improve your conversational Russian skills while having lots of fun! For more information, please visit my website speakrussianto.me.
