Hi, my name is Shelly and I am looking for a family who is in need of child care service this summer (2013) from May to August. I live in Provo with my husband and attend BYU full time. I charge approximately $10/hr (depending on duties, number of children, distance, etc.). I am willing to do cooking, minor cleaning, and laundry in addition to taking care of the children. I have my own car, am a reliable driver, and can pick up children from school, take them to extracurricular activities, go shopping, and run errands. I have a lot of experience working with young children (birth to age 5) but have babysat and been a nanny for older children as well. I also have experience with special needs children; I grew up with a number of foster brothers all of which had some sort of mental or physical disability. I am willing to work Saturdays and Sundays if needed but not on a regular basis.
My availability beginning April 29:
Monday-Friday: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (hours somewhat flexible)
Here is a little about me:
I love smiling and making other people smile. I am known to be a very nurturing person and try to make people around me comfortable. I really want the families I work with to be comfortable with me and confident that I can provide the care that their children need. I graduated from a junior high charter school and began classes at a local community college in my home state, Arizona. I graduated with an associates degree in Libral Arts and was accepted at BYU. I am a senior majoring in Early Childhood Education. Through my program I have taken many family and child-centered classes such as Infant Development, Parenting and Child Guidance, and Foundations of Developmentally Appropriate Practices in Early Childhood Classrooms. My current interests include singing, playing piano, painting, reading, baking, swimming, hiking, and pretty much any outdoor activity!
