Many children would love to be able to create their own video games, but don't know how to do it. In this summer camp, children ages 9-13 will learn how to program their very own game that can be played on any computer that uses Windows.
This is the type of game your children will be creating by the end of the camp: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkwjGbPb4Vg. The programing software we will be useing is RPG Maker. This software uses Ruby and, your child will learn basic script editing, how to find basic bugs in code, and many other transferrable skills.
My name is Levi Hilton. I am 14 years old and have created several video games. I have even been paid to create games (see https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/128714926/book-of-mormon-heroes-the-servant-of-helaman). Because I'm young, I can relate well with kids and know how to teach them effectively.
There are two weeks where the camp will be offered. First, July 27-30 and second August 10-13. Each camp runs Monday - Thursday for 2.5 hours each day. Each week will have two separate sessions. The times for the morning session are 9-11:30, and the afternoon sessions are 1-3:30.
While some half-day camps for kids like this cost $400 (I’m not kidding, see https://www.idtech.com/kids/id-tech-mini/courses/master-minecraft-game-designer/#hours-and-tuition) this camp will cost only 70$. To register fill out this link:
