This is an Emergency Medical Technician course that prepares the student to take the Utah State Emergency Medical Technician test for certification. The course is eight weeks in length and is held Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and Saturdays from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. This course is taught by the Unified Fire Authority's EMT's and Paramedics. The cost is $1050.00, this includes: Tuition, textbook, State test fees, CPR card, stethoscope, BP cuff, and class t-shirt. (out of state fees may be required) Course covers basic life support knowledge and hands on basic life support skills. Class attendance and participation is vital, as much of the information is hands-on skills.
The student should be prepared to study 4-6 hours each week on top of classroom time. The course is held three times per year, Winter, Spring, and Fall. Please go to www.unifiedfire.org to check for available classes and to register.
