Thank you so much for taking interest in my lessons!
My name is Elena. I was born and raised in Russia, and moved to Utah 3 years ago.
I have played violin for 22 years (since I was 7 y.o.), and have been teaching violin for 10 years (2 years as a practitioner, 5 years in school, and 3 years tutoring). I graduated in violin, piano and music theory from the Academy of Arts in Russia, and majored in violin, piano, teaching and performance from the University of Arts and Culture in Russia. I have performed as a soloist, with symphony and chamber orchestras, and have played in countless ensembles and quartets.
I work hard at creating the best possible atmosphere for learning the instrument. I absolutely love the interaction from students willing and ready to learn, and try to relate with each student in a unique way and on an individual level.
I use a broad mixture of methods (Suzuki, Kodaly, Traditional + methods and approaches from various famous violin players), genres (folk and native songs from different countries and cultures, Disney music, opera, dance, country, of course classical, and many more), and styles in my curriculum. Music theory, history of music, different composers, ensemble, performance, and more are taught along with the basics: sight reading and posture.
I teach from my home in Layton.
I offer two options for lessons: 1) half-hour lessons every week (totaling $40.00 a month) or 2) an hour lessons every week (totaling $80.00 a month).
Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions, and to check for available lesson times!
