Name: Dallas Crane Music. Descripton:I teach music composition with emphasis on film scoring, jazz large ensemble, and orchestral works. Students will learn the nuances of each instrument, as well as the roles they play in ensembles of varying sizes. Students will become familiar with advanced, real-world harmonies that will aid them in creating appreciable works. Students will also learn how to analyze music in films, video games, and other media in a practical, effective manner with a focus on being able to imitate and recreate such works.I have studied many film scores and draw my experience on the techniques I have learned from them. I have taken many theory courses in college, but they do not teach applicable theory nor touch the musical tendencies of modern music, either in concert performances or in media productions. Tutoring sessions include lessons on ear training, harmonic knowledge, musical style and phrasing, and composition. Students will preferably have some form of electronic notation software, such as Sibelius, Finale, Logic, ProTools, Cubase, etc.
