I do boulder retaining walls, waterfalls, excavation, grading and swimming pools for less.
I am licensed and insured.
Why do so many homes have double 4 feet high retaining walls with the reset? Why can’t just one 8 feet high retaining wall be done? 4 feet walls do not require soil engineering and no permit is needed.
What is cheaper: the larger concrete block or boulder retaining wall?
In my opinion, boulder retaining walls is a cheaper option and adds a million-dollar look, IF IT IS DONE NICELY.
Why gunite (concrete) pools are more expensive in Northern Utah?
Northern Utah has freezing winter seasons, so the concrete walls of the gunite pools must be much thicker to prevent concrete from cracking. And yet, despite all the extra effort, concrete may crack. This is one of the reason why people choose inground fiberglass swimming pools. Fiberglass pools are much easier to maintain, offer the variety of shapes available and won't crack exposed to the cold. The only problem with the fiberglass pool that may occur is if the pool shell is installed incorrectly. It is importan to take into the considerarion the terrain, soil and ground water that may affect the fiberglass shell. Other than that, fiberglass pool is a much cheaper option.
To add more, most of the premaid endless swimming pools and spas on the market could be installed inground, offering the most affordable and versatile solution.
